About the Edgar County Health Department
The Edgar County Public Health Department was formed by resolution by the Edgar County Board in 1994. The Department operates under the guidance and direction of the Edgar County Board of Health.
We have a total staff of 20 people working diligently to provide services to the residents of Edgar County.
Our staff consists of:

(1) Part time Registered Nurse / Health Educator
(1) Part time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor
(1) Registered Dietician
(1) WIC Clerk
(1) WIC / FCM Receptionist
(2) Full time Environmental Health Inspectors
(1) Part time Dentist
(1) Part time Hygienist
(3) Dental Assistants
(1) Health Educator / Assistant Administrator
Our programs include the following:
WIC / Family Case Management
Teen Pregnancy Prevention
Breastfeeding Peer Counseling
Communicable Disease – including HIV and Hep C testing
Environmental Health – including food, well, & septic inspections
West Nile Virus
Dental Services ‐ including root canals and crowns
